Evolution
Li-Ming Book Company was founded in Taipei by Mr. Chen Fu-Shuenn in October 1949. Starting from retail to publishing, the company has its operation featured in production as well as distribution, and its products are now distributed directly to over 1,000 bookstores islandwide. In 1959, Li-Ming set the record of publishing more than 60 new titles monthly, and released 46 titles on Chinese classical and popular literature with significant efforts. The wide readership ranges from school children to grown-ups.and is deeply popular with then.

Through fellow publishers¡¦ support such as , New Women Magazine, and Crown Publishing Company, as a general agent by linking local newspaper distributors in the middle and southern Taiwan. The distribution system was hence established. To respond to the continuous progress of society, the innovation of concepts, and the trends of the sepparation of production from distribution, Li-Ming determined to shift its concept of operation by terminating its publishing business and thus heading along the role as a professional general agent for publishing companies.

Distribution
A. Books and periodicals are directly distributed by sales staff to bookstores and newsstands in Taipei area.
B. In other areas, books and periodicals are distributed by branch companies and local distributors. Meetings are held quarterly to review its sales target.
C. The flow of books and periodicals between Li-Ming and local distributors is made by trucks at night on daily basis. Without additional packing procedure. Products can be delivered faster with high accuracy. On their way back, the trucks carry retumed-books from each stop.
D. Under the computerized and modernized management, the processing control at Li-Ming is fully constructed, while the product supply is responding to the market with high mobility and the ratio of returned books is controlled within a reasonable range. The senior staff. Promoted from experienced salespeople, make monthly visits around the island to supervise the market development and to ensure that the quality of customer service bemaintained.
E. There are approximately 280 bookstores in alliance with Li-Ming. Promotional campaigns such as annual joint bookfairs, and special sales at bookstores are held to create profit.
